What Returnolio is not, and what the score cannot tell you
Not investment advice, not a broker, and not a prediction of what a share price will do. The score ranks businesses on published numbers, and it knows nothing about your income, your horizon or your other holdings.

Most investment products are vague about their limits. We would rather be specific, because a tool you trust for the wrong thing is worse than no tool at all.
It is not investment advice
Nothing in Returnolio is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. We do not know your income, your tax position, your time horizon, your other holdings, or how you sleep when a position falls 40%. Those are the inputs that decide whether a company belongs in your portfolio, and we have none of them.
We are not registered as an investment adviser in any jurisdiction, and we do not manage money for anyone.
The score is a ranking, not a prediction
A Returnolio score compares one company against the rest of our universe on quality, real earning power and price. That is all it does.
It does not forecast a share price. It does not say a company is a good investment. A company can rank in the top ten and still be a poor fit for your portfolio, or fall 30% next quarter for reasons no fundamental screen would catch.
What a high score actually means
It means the company ranks well against the universe on the things we measure, on the data available at the time it was scored. Every part of that sentence carries weight.
Backtests are not results
Our published backtest describes how a strategy would have ranked companies over a past period, using data as it stood at the time. It is a test of the method, not a record of money made.
The backtest is not a live track record. The live record is the Top 10 itself, a real portfolio marked after every close since 26 June 2026, and past behaviour of a ranking system tells you less about the future than the confidence of most performance charts implies. The backtest page sets out the caveats in full, including the years the approach did badly.
It is not real time
Prices refresh periodically through the trading day and settle on the close. Fundamentals move when companies file. There is no streaming quote, no intraday signal, no order routing, and everything you see carries a lag. If your decision depends on where a price is in the next ten minutes, this is the wrong tool.
We are not a broker, and we never touch your money
Returnolio does not hold funds, execute trades, or connect to your account to move anything. Where we mention a broker, that is a link and a disclosed affiliate relationship, not a partnership over your assets.
We do not cover everything
The universe is a limited list, on purpose. Companies enter it when they meet our coverage rules and leave it when they are acquired, delisted or renamed. Plenty of listed companies have never been in it. An absent ticker means we do not cover it, and nothing more than that.
The parts we keep to ourselves
We publish what each pillar measures, the sub-metrics inside it, every value on every company, and the reasoning behind the whole approach. We do not publish how those pieces blend into one number. That is the thirteen years of work, and it stays ours.
Everything else about the method is documented, and we would rather be judged on that than on a number nobody can inspect.
Educational and proprietary. This explains what our research does, not the exact formula behind it, and it is not personalised investment advice. See the full disclaimer.
